The DCCA encourages everyone without FCI pedigree to participate in the certification held at MolosserStock in Catskill, NY.  Any Dogo Canario who passes at this event will also be granted first generation FCI affiliated papers from Puerto Rico and through the DCCA registry.

  • Dogs must be a minimum age of 9 months.

  • Those who wish to submit their dogs to the breed survey that have FCI affiliated papers can get their dogs stamped as "apt for breeding".

Certification is not for competition but for the purpose of a critique to assess/confirm breed type.  Those without FCI affiliated pedigree, if passed, will be eligible to receive first generation paperwork.  There is no placements, there is no handling knowledge needed, you will present the dog, be asked to show the bite, the judge will look the dog over, have you show some movement, and then give you your critique.  During this time, he will generally give you some information about the dogs strengths and weaknesses.

NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A DCCA MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CERTIFICATION OR THE SPECIALTY
